Sigma Global is developing projects that reduce emissions of greenhouse gases in developing countries. We are responsible for designing and undertaking feasibility studies for the projects to ensure that accreditation according to the Clean Development Mechanism can be achieved using the technical requirements of approved methodologies as guidance. We also designed and implemented the project implementation plans which involve a large number of households and cater for logistical challenges such as long travelling distances, bad weather and poor infrastructure. We are responsible for obtaining registration with the Clean Development Mechanism Executive Board and for implementing the monitoring plan to ensure carbon credits are issued in a timely manner. Finally, we work with our partners to sell the carbon credits in a way that aims to provide reliable income for the project while optimising opportunities to benefit from improvements in the market environment. We achieve this using our hands-on experience in the traded carbon markets.
